The word "Walk" in the Bible represents the direction of your life, your character or your conduct. To be a believer of God our Heavenly Father, the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, it is not about doing routines or believing a religion, it's about having a relationship with them.
That is where the power comes from in order for you to "walk" as a believer daily.
In the Old Testament when God instructed Moses on how the Tabernacle was to be built, it represented, "God among us". When the time of Christ was come, it was Emmanuel, "God with us", and now the indwelling of His Holy Spirit, it is "Christ in us."
The power that enables the Walk of the believer is based on what our Heavenly Father first did for us, was done out of the fact that He first loved us. We must understand that the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, all worked together to save us. Our Heavenly Father sent Jesus to atone for our sins and justifies us through the work of the Son, then we are being sanctified and empowered through the work of the Holy Spirit.
This is why your "personal" alone time in worship is so important. When we go to Church and worship together, yes, it is commanded for us to do, and we gain so much in the Spirit by the teachings, testimonies and fellowship when we do it. But first, in our own homes laying before the Father in sincere worship, this grows a binding, a love, a need to be with Him, in Him and for Him more and more. This cause us to "Walk" in the power that is needed in our daily lives.
How does this Power affect daily walk?
Romans 6:4 "Therefore, we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."
Christ died for us, the death we could not die, and the resurrection, that enable us to have eternal life. He also lived the life for us that we could not live, this stops us from thinking that there is something we need to do in order to save or change ourselves. No, he did it all, we believe this, and through the Holy Spirit we "yield our members as instruments of righteousness unto God." Romans 6 We believe on, rely on, mediate on, and stand on what he's done for us, that enables us to walk in newness and this brings about the changes in our daily lives.
Romans 13:13
"Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying."
To walk honestly in the daytime, means, understanding that we are fully being seen, fully aware of the times and days we live in and how we are to conduct ourselves as examples of Christ.
2nd Corinthians 5:7 "For we walk by faith, not by sight"
In this shake and bake, social media, received information by the speed of light generation, the concept of walking by faith is not easily received. There is a reason the Bible teaches to walk in the Spirit, and that means you cannot walk after the flesh. To walk by faith, is for man, who is part mortal, to learn how to walk with the Eternal God, outside of time, while yet living in time.
There will be times when He will tell us to do something simply because "He said so" with no explanation and no more information will be downloaded. We will have to rely on the testimony of others that have walked with Him before, to know how to stand in that faith.
The Word of God is a living Power, that as we acted on it through the Spirit, it empowers us.
Galatians 5:16
This I say then, walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Ephesians 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor.
Ephesians 5:15
See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
Colossians 2:6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
Colossians 4:5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
How does the believer walk the Christian walk daily?
It can only be by His Word and His Holy Spirit:
Giving you power to be a witness. Acts 1:8 Leading and guiding you, John 16:13 Filling your heart with His love, to be able to love as he loves. Romans 5;5
Praying for us, in order that God's will for our lives be fulfilled. Romans 8:26-27
Strengthens us in the inner man to walk holy on the outside. Ephesians 3:16
Believe His word and trust His grace and walk in power.
