One Sunday morning the message was about: The Reasons for Storms, Trials and Test that comes in the life of a believer.
As Pastor Dor preached the words of encouragement and godly wisdom, they changed my life and my thinking at that very moment. It helped me to understand and to stop always
looking at what I did wrong; but to focus more on how God is showing me, the way to get right in my walk with Him.
How to have the mind of victory and not the mind of a victim in the midst of a storm.
Pastor Dor stated in the message that there are different reasons that trials come, but it
is always to brings us closer to God.
Sometimes we think as believes of God, that when we have trials or problems, it is always because of the devil or that other people are coming up against us.
Yes, there are times that this occur, but this is not always the main purpose.
The Word of God also shows us that God will sometime allow a trial or a test for a
much greater and different purpose.
Example: Matthew 8:23-28- The Disciples in the midst of a Storm and..... Jesus was a sleep as the storm raged.
Pastor Dor said, you see Church, you must understand that “Your trials come to reveal what is in you”
This was the situation with the disciples, when the storm arose upon the sea and Jesus was asleep in the boat. They had seen already many powerful miracles that Jesus did, and yet when their faith was tried, they feared. They did not believe that Jesus’ presence with them was enough during the storm.
Notice that when they awoke him, Jesus did not say to them that they had no faith,
but he said to them, “you of little faith.” They walked daily with Jesus, the living Word. Yet, their trial revealed they did not believe in Jesus as much as they thought they believed.
You see Jesus wanted them to understand and have to confidence in him, even when he is silent. Remember, "a teacher does not talk when you're taking a test."
He wanted them to know that God is always with them and in control over everything.
"God speak the loudest, when He is silent"
And they that know thy name, will put their trust in Thee. For thou Lord hast not forsaken them that seek thee. Ps. 9:10
As they continued to walk with the living Word, (except Judas) that Word opened the eyes of their understanding. And on the day of Pentecost, the Word was no longer just with them, but they were in the Word and the Word was in them.
Question, in your time of trials and storms, which is greater, your fears or your faith in God?
I pray these words change and strengthen you in your walk with God, in the name of Jesus, Amen.
