Praise ye the Lord for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves." KJV
Leadership is important in any job or ministry, most of all in the work of God. God calls, empower and expect leaders to lead. This is to show the purpose for God placing them in position.
But, even the more, "the people who he/she is leading must be "willingly" to offer, themselves under authority to gain the victory.
The verse points out this important fact, Praise ye the Lord for the avenging of Israel:
"When" the people willingly offered themselves KJV
"When the people volunteer the battle" AMP
"That the people freely volunteer" CJB "The ·people answered the call" EXP
It is saying that it is the responsibility of the people to willingly (not bribed, was not manipulated, not with a distrust/disrespect of the leader) but must offer themselves fully. This will help to have the victory.
But when this is not done: Disobedience brings Disorder and Disorder brings Defeat.
When the leaders do their part and the people do their part. Then we all come to "bless the Lord". This is a combination you won't have one without the other.
God is our leader, what is He calling you to willingly do? To whom or what is God calling you to freely, volunteer, so that you in combination with others will have the victory?
Be blessed.
